Daniel James is a dancer based in Hampshire, with family roots in the North East of England. He recently graduated from the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance with a BA (Hons) in Ballet and Contemporary Dance, following previous training at Queen Mary’s College and Tring Park School as a Ballet Associate. His early dance education began at the Jeanine Greville Dance Academy, where he trained in RAD Ballet, ISTD Modern, and Tap.

Daniel’s professional experience includes performing Pam Tanowitz’s Neither Drums Nor Trumpets at the Royal Opera House as part of the Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels Festival (2025), and working with Akram Khan Company on Jungle Book Reimagined (2024) under Mavin Khoo for the Next Generation Festival.
He has also been involved in research and development with choreographers Julian Nichols and Rose Alice, and took part in improvisational rehearsals with the Dresden Frankfurt Company.

In autumn 2025, Daniel joined Eliot Smith Dance, making his debut in POPPY.
