This is Eliot Smith Dance (ESD) terms and conditions for those parent guardians' children participating in the ESD dance project in autumn 2024 at St. Teresa's Primary School and St. Catherine's Primary School in Newcastle upon Tyne.

 

FEES

This dance project / workshop(s) is free and is funded by Newcastle Culture Investment Fund administrated by Community Foundation.

 

ATTENDANCE

Good attendance is expected at all workshops and expect children to attend all scheduled workshops after school.

 

DANCE CLOTHING
Children should wear comfortable clothing to move in, trainers or socks.

FOOD AND DRINK
Snack, Juice and Water is supplied by ESD. Children are advised (with the school staff) to inform ESD of any food allergies.

 

BEHAVIOUR

We expect all children to adhere to respectful behaviour to each other and to staff.

 

We have a no tolerance policy on bullying – any issues of bullying should be brought to the dance teacher attention immediately and ESD will do its best to manage the situation quickly.

 

There is a zero tolerance of any violent behaviour – both physical and verbal/digitally communicated threats. 

 

MISCELLANEOUS

Eliot Smith and guest professional dancers and artists are qualified, DBS checked and insured. However, due to the nature of teaching performing arts, sometimes it is necessary to correct positions physically. This is always conducted with care and professionalism.

 

A school teacher will be present during all workshops.

 

No child will be allowed to leave the school premises unless a parent is there to collect them or if the schoolteacher has been informed that alternative arrangements are in place. If any parent has a concern regarding safeguarding, then please inform the school or Eliot Smith Dance immediately so that it can be rectified.

 

ELIOT SMITH DANCE LIABILITIES

Eliot Smith Dance do not accept responsibility for loss, damage or injury arising from errors or omissions on the registration form whether completed by the parent guardian or the person in charge of the child at the time of signing up.

 

Eliot Smith Dance do not accept liability for personal injury to any child attending class, with the exception of such injury being caused by negligence or default of any member of our staff or any other default on ESD part.

Eliot Smith Dance do not accept any responsibility for loss or damage to personal property.

 

Eliot Smith Dance do not accept responsibility for any loss or expense due to circumstances beyond our control.

 

Eliot Smith Dance is only responsible for pupils during the workshop(s). Children must be collected promptly at the end of their class.

 

Eliot Smith Dance holds Public Liability Insurance.

FILMING AND PHOTOGRAPHY

Photographs and video footage of children will be taken by Eliot Smith Dance staff as part of the project and digital performance and will be used on Eliot Smith Dance website/social media pages, and for future publicity purposes. If you do not wish your child’s image to be used for purposes of social media, you must inform us in writing to eliot@eliotsmithdance.com
